Steel Q345A has good strength but poor performance. It is a low alloy steel, which is widely used in bridges, vehicles, ships, buildings, pressure vessels and so on. Compared with Q345B, C, D and E steel, Q345A steel has high low temperature impact test temperature and poor performance, and the content of harmful substances P and S is higher than Q345B, C, D and E.

Difference between Q235 and Q345:
Q235 is ordinary carbon steel, metal structural parts, carburized or cyanide parts with low core strength requirements, pull rods, connecting rods, hooks, couplers, bolts, nuts, sleeves, shafts and weldments.
Q345 is a low alloy steel with good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature performance, good plasticity and weldability. It is used as structures, mechanical parts, building structures and general metal structure components bearing dynamic load such as medium and low pressure vessels, oil tanks, vehicles, cranes, mining machinery, power stations and bridges. It can be used in hot rolling or normalizing state. It can be used for various structures in cold areas below - 40 ℃.
If the structure is controlled by strength, Q345 can be considered; if the structure is controlled by stiffness, Q235 can be considered. Q345 is a little expensive, but it can save materials because of its high strength. The specific selection can be comprehensively compared from the above points.
